Art of Brian Jones

Biography

“Twisted through Pop, subverted by Punk and born in Liverpool”   Brian Jones

Since the turn of the new Millennium, Brian Jones’ reputation has been steadily growing as ever increasing numbers encounter his ‘New Pop’ art.

“It’s very simple; people either like them, or they don’t” he says.

The subsequent years have seen him show his works in over forty exhibitions, in addition to producing designs for various clients.

Summer 2005 saw Jones represent Wales in Bulgaria as a visiting artist, where he experienced the dark underbelly of Sofia.

“There are people there living worse than animals – I had a couple of encounters with mafia, got spiked in a robbery attempt, and had to deal with some dodgy characters. If I hadn’t been born and bred in Liverpool, I could have found myself in serious trouble.”

2006 saw him concentrate on new paintings for the ‘rude and ill-bred’ Brighton exhibition (with dr.d), and showing at a couple of London group shows.

Next year his works travel Stateside once more as part of the ‘Prints of Wales’ exhibition in Kansas City.

He is currently working on a book titled ‘Dada Pop n Pistols’, which will be published in 2007.

Over the past few years his works have shown literally alongside those of Andy Warhol, Richard Hamilton and Roy Lichtenstein to name but a few. He has pieces in public collections, one in the House of Commons, and a full work schedule, leading Britart.com to assert that “(This artist’s) future is one to watch”.

Now living in Wales and represented by 33PM, Brian Jones is one of Britain’s most promising ‘New Pop’ artists. He shows both nationally and internationally, and his works are owned by politicians, football managers, pop stars and other notables in the creative industries.
